Man Faces Child Sex Abuse Charges in 2 Counties

A 69-year-old Raeford man faces charges of child sex abuse after a joint investigation by sheriff offices in Hoke and Moore counties.

CARTHAGE, N.C. — A 69-year-old Raeford man faces charges of child sex abuse after a joint investigation by sheriff offices in Hoke and Moore counties.

Hoke County investigators executed a search warrant at Jack Deloy Edwards' home at 7059 Fayetteville Road on Aug. 20. They reported to Moore County that two Cameron juveniles, ages 7 and 12, had been molested and involved in pornography.

On Monday, a Moore County grand jury indicted Edwards on two counts each of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, first-degree statutory sexual offense, felony child abuse and indecent liberties with a child.

Edwards was given a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 7.

Related charges against Edwards were pending in Hoke County.
