RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County law enforcement officers are looking for Kevin Terrell Jones, who broke free Saturday afternoon at about 3 p.m. from the Wendell Police Department and fled on foot.

Jones, 27, is a black man who was wearing a black and white striped shirt and light blue jeans at the time of his escape. He was last seen at Sunnybrook Road south of New Bern Avenue.

Anyone who sees Jones or knows where he might be is asked to call 911 or the Wendell Police Department at 919-365-4444.

Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said he did not know what Jones did that landed him in Wendell police custody.

Jones's criminal record in Wake County dates to at least 2007 when he was charged with speeding to elude arrest.

Since that time, he has been arrested a dozen times on charges ranging from breaking and entering to driving without a license.

Jones' most recent arrest came in January, when he was charged with larceny.
