Man eludes Creedmoor police after high-speed chase
A 21-year-old man led police on a high-speed chase through two counties Wednesday afternoon before escaping capture.

Creedmoor police stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Tyricus Lawan White, who was wanted for a Jan. 31 drive-by shooting. White took off, leading police on a vehicle pursuit through Granville and Wake counties that reached speeds in excess of 100 mph, police said.
The chase ended at 3076 Blackley Road after White’s vehicle struck a tree. White was able to escape on foot.
White is described as a thin light-skinned black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds with medium length hair.
