KITTRELL, N.C. — A man was electrocuted Thursday when he stepped on a live power line following a single-vehicle crash near Kittrell, authorities said.
The man, whose name hasn't been released pending notification of his family, lost control of his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup on a curve on Walter Grissom Road just inside Franklin County, according to the State Highway Patrol. The truck ran off the left side of the road and overturned, striking a utility pole.

The man was able to get out of the pickup, but he stepped on a power line that was knocked down in the crash, authorities said.
