A 68-year-old man drowned Saturday evening off a cove in the Eastern Shores subdivision of Lake Gaston, the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said.

<b>LITTLETON, N.C.</b> — A 68-year-old man drowned Saturday evening off a cove in the Eastern Shores subdivision of Lake Gaston, the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said.

The man's body was recovered at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

No other information was immediately available.
