A man died Wednesday afternoon after police said his vehicle crossed from the right to the left lane on eastbound Interstate 40 in Durham and crashed.
Durham police said they believe the driver had a medical condition that led to the crash.
No one else was injured in the single-vehicle wreck, which happened near the Fayetteville Street exit shortly before 1:30 p.m.
The man's name was not immediately released.
The crash prompted lane closures as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
