RALEIGH, N.C. — The Maryland State Police have arrested a Los Angeles man wanted in a stabbing death in North Carolina.
Raleigh police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said in a news release that troopers arrested 29-year-old Sean Flores of Los Angeles on Interstate 70 near Hagerstown, Maryland, early Monday. Troopers say Flores was driving 90 mph (145 kph) in a car stolen in North Carolina before he was stopped.
Hourigan says Flores is charged in the stabbing of 44-year-old David Choko Brown Saturday night. Brown died Sunday in a Raleigh hospital.
In Maryland, Flores is charged with speeding and other traffic offenses.
It was not immediately clear when North Carolina authorities will request Flores' extradition to face charges.
This story has been corrected to show arrest was by Maryland State Police, not Maryland Highway Patrol.
