Man dies after being shot outside Raleigh nightclub

Michael Tavon Tolbert died Sunday after an early-morning shooting outside Flashbacks Sports Bar & Lounge on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh.

— Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot outside a Raleigh nightclub early Sunday morning.

Michael Tavon Tolbert 22, was taken to WakeMed around 4:20 a.m. after being shot in his calf in the parking lot of Flashbacks Sports Bar & Lounge at 4004 Capital Blvd.

He later died at the hospital, police said Sunday afternoon.

Investigators haven't charged anyone in the case and are asking that anyone who might have witnessed the shooting to contact the Raleigh Police Department's tip line at 919-834-4357.

    @MOVEYEXTRAX. the bullet pierced his artery which caused him to bleed out.

    it was one of the owners who shot him when he was walking away, he didn't die from the gun shot, he died because the guy pepper sprayed him and he couldn't breath and was having trouble breathing. They just didn't give you all the details here on the news and leave alot out!

    "Shot in the calf and he dies?" I would like to know how this happened. It certainly seems a shot in the calf is survivable.

    More senseless shooting deaths in Raleigh this year. Hope they find the guy fast and he gets put away for a long time. This is becoming a common headline for Raleigh this yr..
