Man crashes truck into doctor's office in Clayton

Posted January 23

— A man accidentally drove his pickup truck into the waiting room of a doctor’s office in Clayton on Thursday morning.

A spokeswoman with the town said the driver, 71-year-old Billy Parris of Clayton, plowed into Horizon Family Medicine at 236 Butternut Lane.

A man in the waiting room heard the crash and jumped out of the way, but he was taken to Johnston Medical Center to be checked for possible injuries.

Parris, who was unhurt, will be cited with unsafe driving, according to the spokeswoman.

Parris told WRAL News that he was pulling into a parallel parking space when his foot slid off the brake and hit the gas. He said he wears an ankle brace, which got stuck between both pedals when his foot slipped.

Parris said he's worn the brace for six years without incident.

The man did not "jump out of the way" nor did he hear the crash and he was not taken to Johnston...He was hit by the truck, had not time to react and was taken to WakeMed...fact check first next time

Your going to have to explain to me how he is going to be cited for unsafe movement if he was in a parking lot? It is a PVA you can find him at fault but can't charge him.
