WARSAW, N.C. — A Sampson County man was jailed Sunday on drug charges, his second run-in with the law in as many months.

Torrey Tremayne Frederick, 32, of 506 Yancey St. in Warsaw, was charged in July with possession of a firearm by a felon after an investigation found that he had one of the weapons used in a shooting at Harrells Raceway on July 4.

One man died in that shooting. No one has been charged with murder and the investigation is ongoing.

Frederick was a passenger in a car Sunday that was stopped at a checkpoint at Johnson Street and Fisher Drive in Clinton. Police found cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.
