Man connected to Harrells Raceway shooting arrested again

Posted August 31, 2010

— A Sampson County man was jailed Sunday on drug charges, his second run-in with the law in as many months.

Torrey Tremayne Frederick, 32, of 506 Yancey St. in Warsaw, was charged in July with possession of a firearm by a felon after an investigation found that he had one of the weapons used in a shooting at Harrells Raceway on July 4.

One man died in that shooting. No one has been charged with murder and the investigation is ongoing.

Frederick was a passenger in a car Sunday that was stopped at a checkpoint at Johnson Street and Fisher Drive in Clinton. Police found cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.

Convicted felon with a gun. We should enact a law that allows felons with a gun to be shot on sight. This goes to show that this person has no respect for the law. As such should not be allowed to exist with law abiding citizens.

Maybe if the Sampson County DA's office had charged him in connection with the murder at Harrell's, he wouldn't have been out on the street in possession of drugs & another gun. Nevermind the 4 outstanding warrents he had prior to this arrest. Sounds like somebody needs to investigate the practice of Distict Attorney Hudson & his crew! Kudos to Clinton PD!

There was a loaded handgun which happened to have been stolen earlier with them as well. The Sampson Independent has more details including a glossy of Mr. Frederick.
