FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — Fuquay-Varina police arrested a man Wednesday, a day after they say he held up a town post office and stole $102.

At about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Barrett Randall Griffin entered the post office, at 131 N. Judd Parkway NE, and passed a note to a post office clerk that said he had a gun, according to the warrant for his arrest.

Griffin, 54, of 3649 Piney Grove Wilbon Road, was already in custody when police charged him with the robbery. He had been arrested earlier Tuesday evening for failure to appear in court.

He faces charges of armed robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle in connection with the post office robbery.
