— A Whitakers man has been arrested after authorities found an estimated $100,000 in stolen merchandise at his home.

Bobby Joe Wadsworth, 48, of 1218 N.C. Highway 33, is charged with felony possession of stolen goods and possession of a firearm by a felon, authorities said.

The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip that a worker for Interstate Brands Corp. was stealing automotive supplies from the company, authorities said. Interstate Brands conducted an inventory and found an extensive amount of property missing, authorities said.

Authorities searched the home of Wadsworth, a mechanic at Interstate Brands, last Thursday and recovered acetylene and oxygen tanks, cases of oil filters, heavy-duty truck jacks, new tires, truck rims and an assortment of tools, authorities said.

Thanks Sound Man - got it now. The guy is a convicted felon, wonder what they didn't think? If it is the same family I am thinking about - their entire history has been nothing less than a disaster.

But if you just GOTTA steal it, move it. What kind of idiot would steal a ton of stuff that has clear value on the black market, then hoard it is his home? I suppose the same kind of idiot that would steal it in the first place, but please!!!

If they had brains and education they'd be working and making an honest living. Some people lie, cheat and steal everyday just to get by. Isn't it a pity.

When will these people stop trying to live off the hard work of others. Earn your own money don't steal it.
