— Raleigh police charged Jeremy Beane, 34, Monday with the murder of an acquaintance inside a Raleigh apartment on Saturday.

When police arrived at the Pines of Ashton complex off New Bern Avenue, they found Cheannell Marie Mickens, 43, dead at 3253-F Calumet Drive.

Beane was also inside the apartment, police said, and he had some injuries. Police called Mickens' death a "domestic situation" and declined to describe the injuries Beane suffered. He was treated at WakeMed and released.

Whether she had a criminal record or not she didnt deserve to die that was my bestfriend and she wasnt violent so if anything she was trying to defend herself. It amazes me how people get up here making comments when they dont even know the people involved and have so much to say get a LIFE.

How do you all know what happened? It could have been self-defense. Yes, they've charged him with murder at this time, but let's see all the evidence first before we make a judgement.....

So what if she had a record...that does not mean that she deserves to die that way!
Just goes to show you. If you want to hang with this crowd then expect to be treated the same way as they do others. They will not change for you!!!!

I agree that it doesn't matter the record and the record could've been stealing bubble gum or trespassing, but I don't see where they mention her record. Hopefully, the removed it.

Exactly...ANGELLUV....her record, (for all we know) could be for taking lip gloss as a teenager; doesn't make it right; but doesn't make it okay for this man to take her life either, just because (he didn't get caught) and does not have a record.

She was a person. She was someone's daughter and/or mother.
And she deserved better. Any person does.

Whatever their problems were, she didn't deserve to die for them.
