Man charged with murder in fatal Raeford shooting
Hoke County authorities arrested Dwayne Michael Barnett on Monday in the Sept. 21 shooting death of Leon Donta McGeachy.

The Hoke County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that investigators have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Raeford man more than two weeks ago.
Dwayne Michael Barnett, 22, of 171 Fernwood Road, Cameron, was arrested Monday on a charge of first-degree murder in the Sept. 21 shooting of Leon Donta McGeachy, 35, of 578 Haire Road, who was found dead in the backyard of a house at 672 Scott Currie Road.
Barnett was being held without bond in the Hoke County Detention Center and was expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday in Hoke County District Court.
Investigators did not say how the two men might have known each other or what a possible motive for the shooting was.
