Man charged with Hoke County murder in June shooting
A man was arrested in West Virginia and charged with murder in connection to the death of a woman last month in Hoke County.
Posted — UpdatedD'Angelo Cox was arrested on Tuesday in Bluefield, West Virginia, and transported back to Hoke County, according to the Hoke County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
The murder charge stems from a shooting that happened on June 8 in the area of Mallow Street near Braddy Road. Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said deputies responded to the shooting around 12:30 p.m. that day and found Deldrina Chambers, who had life-threatening injuries.
Chambers died a day later at a local hospital.
