— A Franklin County man has been charged as an accessory in a murder-suicide at a Louisburg apartment complex two weeks ago, police said Monday.

Gregory Hicks, 29, fatally shot Rose Marie Guzman, 24, and then himself in the Franklin Court apartments, at 119-A Second St., on Dec. 14, police said.

Police said the couple had a history of domestic violence. The night before her death, Guzman reported to police that Hicks had assaulted her at the apartment, but officers couldn't find him to make an arrest.

Ryan Reynolds, 21, has been charged with aiding and abetting a felonious breaking and entering and accessory after the fact.

Investigators said Reynolds knocked on the apartment door on Dec. 14, allowing Hicks to force his way inside once someone opened it. Reynolds left the complex once Hicks was inside, police said.

"If he in fact did this, he should be charged with Murder; twice. Are you kidding me? This should be a First Degree Murder charge! Anytime anyone asks you to do something like that, don't." killing_me_softly

First degree murder? Twice? Methinks you need to read the story again. He did not kill anyone let alone 2 people. He may have been convinced by Mr. Hicks that he just wanted to talk to Ms. Guzman and work things out. Once Mr. Hicks got in the apartment Mr. Reynolds walked away. He did not kill Ms. Guzman and Mr. Hicks killed himself.

I'm not sure either where the accessory after the fact comes in either. Bottom line is there is more to the story than we see here. But first degree murder? Not so much.
