Man charged with flashing teen girl

Rocky Mount police arrested a 31-year-old man after a 17-year-old girl claimed he exposed himself to her in a parking lot Friday afternoon.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police arrested a 31-year-old man after a 17-year-old girl claimed he exposed himself to her in a parking lot Friday afternoon.

The victim told police that a man approached her outside the Maxway store on North Fairvew Road and exposed his genitalia to her. She said he fled in a red Chevrolet Blazer on Eastern Avenue.

Police found a man driving a similar vehicle in the parking lot of Eastern Avenue Park. They arrested Fonnell Parker on charges of indecent exposure.

Parker was being held Sunday in the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

According to state Department of Correction records, Parker is on probation stemming from 2007 convictions for simple affray or assault.
