Man Charged With DWI After Hitting Pedestrian
A Smithfield man was charged with DWI Saturday after hitting a pedestrian on N.C. 39 in Zebulon.

ZEBULON — A Smithfield man was charged with DWI Saturday after hitting a pedestrian on N.C. 39 in Zebulon.
Gary Michael Elmore, 54, was driving a 2004 Oldsmobile van when he hit Reginald Ray Hodge, Trooper C.P. Oravits with the state Highway Patrol said. Hodge was walking southbound on N.C. 39 when he was struck.
Hodge, 53, was treated and released from WakeMed.
Elmore has two prior DWI convictions, Oravits said.
