Man charged with distributing cocaine in Goldsboro

The Goldsboro-Wayne Count Drug Squad arrested a 21-year-old man Wednesday on charges that he planned to distribute cocaine.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Goldsboro-Wayne Count Drug Squad arrested a 21-year-old man Wednesday on charges that he planned to distribute cocaine.

Jamel Rashon Edwards, of 1904 N. William St., faces charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Edwards was also charged with failure to appear in court on a citation for driving violations.

According to state Department of Correction records, he was convicted of possession of a weapon on a campus and possessing or carrying a BB rifle or on educational property in Wayne County in 2005. He later served four months after his probation was revoked.
