Man charged with attempted murder in Raleigh

Raleigh police arrested a man Friday night in connection with the attempted murder of a 24-year-old man on Liverpool Lane.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a man Friday night in connection with the attempted murder of a 24-year-old man on Liverpool Lane.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call at 4428 Liverpool Lane. They found that Matthew Wesley Moore had been seriously injured.

He was taken to WakeMed, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday night. No information was released on how Moore was injured.

Ted Dewitt Hand Jr., 27, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with attempted murder.

He was being held in the Wake County jail Saturday under a $1 million bond. Hand is due in court Monday.

Police said the crime was not random.
