Man charged with attempted murder in Halifax County
Halifax County sheriff's investigators say a woman's ex-boyfriend allegedly beat her multiple times with a baseball bat Saturday night.
Posted — UpdatedAuthorities were called around 9 p.m. to a home on Pinewood Road near Roanoke Rapids, where they arrested Michael Scott Hamilton, 31, of Roanoke Rapids.
Hamilton is charged with attempted first-degree murder, and more charges are pending authorities said.
Authorities did not identify the victim, who was being treated at a local hospital Sunday. Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Hamilton was being held without bond at the Halifax County Sunday afternoon.
