Posted October 16, 2011

— Zebulon police arrested a man with a lengthy criminal record in connection with a robbery at a Walgreens store Friday.

Lt. Scott Finch said that a man entered the Walgreens store around 3 p.m., implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. No one was injured in the incident.

Officers arrested Reginald Donnell Sims, 39, a short time later at his 107 E. Barbee St. home, Finch said.

Sims was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of crack cocaine, damage to property, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.

Sims has convictions for second-degree rape, robbery with a dangerous weapon, common-law robbery and multiple counts of assault in a criminal record dating to 1989, according to state Department of Correction records.

He has spent more than 13 of the past 20 years behind bars.

Prison is crime school... plain and simple. It has nothing to do with rehabilitation.

I think rehabilitation for career criminals is a complete failure. I don't know the numbers but wonder what percentage re offends????

  • Rebelyell55 Oct 17, 2011

Those 7 years off, wonder how many crimes that he didn't get caught for? It appears, this fellow is beyond rehabilitation.
