Man charged in three Raleigh bank robberies

Police said Thursday they have charged a man in three Raleigh bank robberies over the past three months.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police said Thursday they have charged a man in three Raleigh bank robberies over the past three months.

Johnny Vasquez, 50, of 211-36 Ashe Ave., was charged with three counts of common-law robbery in connection with a Monday robbery of a Wells Fargo bank at 601 Oberlin Road, a Jan. 8 robbery of the same bank and a Dec. 8 robbery of a Wells Fargo bank at 2600 Hillsborough St.

Vasquez also was charged with another two counts of common-law robbery in connection with Dec. 27 and Feb. 27 robberies of a Walmart at 6600 Glenwood Ave., police said.
