Man charged in store owner's shooting

A Goldsboro man was charged Monday with shooting a convenience store clerk last week, police said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man was charged Monday with shooting a convenience store clerk last week, police said.

Rashard Vondarius Oliver, 18, of 1218 Franklin St., was charged with attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Ribhi Mohammed Kandeel, the owner of Brookside Mart, 2000 S. Slocumb St., was robbed and shot while working in the store on Aug. 18, police said. He is recovering from his gunshot wound.

The case remains under investigation, and more arrests are expected, police said.
