— Four law enforcement agencies were involved in a high-speed chase Friday evening along Interstate 95 that began in Dunn and ended in Smithfield.

Officers deployed stop sticks to bring the driver, who at times reached 100 mph, to a halt. Dunn police said Craig Anthony Jones is facing numerous charges, including driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, careless and reckless driving and narcotics possession.

Dunn police said they were searching for Jones after receiving a tip about illegal activity. They found a vehicle matching the description of Jones’ car and tried to pull it over when the driver fled.

Johnston County sheriff’s deputies, Four Oaks police officers and Smithfield police assisted in the chase, which ended between mile marker 95 and 96.

Dunn police said officers used a Taser to subdue Jones when he was removed from the vehicle, and Jones hit the ground. He was treated and released from a nearby hospital and was taken to the Harnett County jail.
