Man charged in Hoke stabbing death

Raeford, N.C. — A Laurinburg man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a Raeford man, authorities said Wednesday.
Desmond Brian Cook, 33, of 18121 Harry Malloy Road, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and remains in the Hoke County jail without bond.
Hoke County deputies and paramedics responded to a reported stabbing at 129 Madison Drive in Raeford shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, but efforts to revive Maurice McMillian but were unsuccessful.
No details on a motive for the stabbing were released.
