Man charged in Harnett County shooting

— A 25-year-old Cumberland County man was charged Friday in a Wednesday shooting that injured three people on McLean Chapel Church Road in near Bunnlevel, the Harnett County Sheriff's Office said.

Ray Levon Smith, of 127 Timber Hollow Drive in Linden, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

Authorities did not release more information Friday about three people injured in the shooting. One person was flown to UNC Hospitals Wednesday, another was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and a third was taken to Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn. Their names were not released.

Smith was in the Harnett County jail Friday under a $250,000 secured bond. 

Authorities said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No other information was released.

    "and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon", lets just enforce the laws we have now, a convicted felon with a firearm should never see the light of day agin or when released he be to old to even pick up a gun.
