Man charged in Goldsboro shooting

A Goldsboro man has been accused of shooting and injuring another man Tuesday, police announced Thursday.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro man has been accused of shooting and injuring another man Tuesday, police announced Thursday.

Investigators said that Benjarman James Carraway, 22, shot Christmas N. Whitfield, who was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Carraway was charged Wednesday evening with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was placed in the Wayne County jail under a $125,000 secured bond.

Investigators have not commented on a motive in shooting.
