Police on Saturday charged a 26-year-old man in connection with the armed robbery of a State Employees Credit Union branch in Fuquay-Varina.

According to investigators, Brandon Phillip Williams entered the bank, at 404 Old Honeycutt Road, about 5 p.m. Thursday and demanded money before leaving on foot.

Williams was taken into custody early Saturday at the Econo Lodge on Mechanical Drive in Garner and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of heroin, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was in the Wake County jail Saturday under a $276,000 bond.

Investigators discovered a weapon and undisclosed amount of money from the hotel room.

Police also arrested Bryce Killian Bonilla, 24. He is charged with possession of heroin, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bonilla was also in the Wake County jail Saturday under a $35,000 bond.

Both men are scheduled to go before a judge Monday.

Fuquay-Varina police are still investigating the robbery and anyone else who may have been involved. Anyone with information should call 919-552-3191.
