— A 20-year-old Fayetteville man surrendered to police Wednesday in connection with a stabbing death on Southwood Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Givonno Carter faces first-degree murder charges.

Shortly after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a stabbing on the 1200 block of Southwood Drive. Meanwhile, the victim, 23-year-old Joshua Charles Walker, was dropped off at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

It wasn't clear who dropped him off.

Police say Carter fled the scene on foot after stabbing Walker.

He was being held Wednesday in the Cumberland County jail.

Well said NomoreKoolaid! Another hard up criminal that deserves the chair that we will have to pay his stay for the next 20 plus years. He didn't give that young boy a chance to live. Why does he deserve to sit in jail...if anyone even finds him.

Just look at Death ROW in NC at their website. Look at their day room with TV from 7am till 11pm .Look at the murders today below this article. I sat a a jury for number 85 on Death Row in 1997. Not one person has been executed since 2006. Now if they put three to death per year starting today he would still have 28 more years to live. Wait until the next time I am called for Jury Duty. I will NOT serve on it.
