Man charged in fatal shooting at Moore County party

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting during a party at Moore County home last weekend.

EAGLE SPRINGS, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting during a party at Moore County home last weekend.

Deshawn Lamer Morrison-Junious, 20, of Candor was charged Monday with murder in the death of Jasmin Rorie, 23, of Candor.

Rorie was shot during a party in a home at 248 McCoy Lane in Eagle Springs around 3 a.m. Sunday, and a friend drove him to a hospital, where he died, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

Morrison-Junious was arrested at his mother's home in Richmond County.

He was placed in the Moore County Detention Center and denied bond. His first court appearance was set for June 7.
