Man charged in east Durham shooting; one sought

A 17-year-old Durham man was arrested Friday in connection with a Tuesday shooting on Eva Street that sent a 36-year-old man to the hospital.

DURHAM, N.C. — A 17-year-old Durham man was arrested Friday in connection with a Tuesday shooting on Eva Street that sent a 36-year-old man to the hospital. 

Jarrion Elgric Hood, of Angier Avenue, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and kidnapping. 

According to investigators, Hood and Tyrico Bowens, 19, approached a man in the 800 block of Eva Street about 8:30 p.m. and shot him.

The man's name has not been released, but he was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. 

Hood was in the Durham County jail Friday under a $5 million bond, and Bowens is still at large.
