— A Durham man has been charged with murder in a weekend shooting death, police said Monday.

Police found Donald Ray Scott, 52, of Wiggins Street, wounded inside a pickup truck after the driver flagged an officer down early Saturday on Linwood Avenue, near Alston Avenue.

Scott later died of his wounds.

Police arrested Derrick Eugene Williams, 24, of Linwood Avenue and charged him with murder. He was being held Monday in the Durham County Jail without bond.

Investigators said Scott was shot following an argument.

Wow Derrick! You said that you would stay out this time. You said that you would be getting your life together. I pray for your mother, I know this has crushed her. She wanted better for you. Now what about your childs! During this act you only thought about yourself! I pray for the Scott family. You have not only changed your life but the lives or your family your children AND the lives of Mr. Scott's entire family. No matter what happend you didnt have to do this! You broke your word to me and your mother! Now your child esp. Derrick Jr father is gone away for the rest of their lives. I pray for your soul! You have hurt so many people once again!
