"Durham is widely considered an outstanding place to live" - By the crips and the bloods

Word of advice...if you travel make sure your gun travels with you. It's your only chance.

All you Durham-bashers are EXACTLY the kind of people we don't need here, so keep up the poor-mouthing to keep others of your ilk out. We only want progressives capable of rational thought, and because of such folk Durham is widely considered an outstanding place to live. Yes, we have both black and brown gangs as any city over 100K population does. Avoid the "hoods" and you'll think you're in Chapel Hill or Cary. But not you people, though. Please don't believe a word I'm saying and stay out! We have no Sarah Palin people here and we like it that way.

I am glad they caught this man. He is a danger to society. He need to be locked for a long while and certainly needs counseling.

Unfortunately for those of Hispanic background who are in the country legally, the unchecked flood of illegals into the country (and especially into a few states like NC) contributes to prejudicial thought by the average citizen - such as the (statistically warranted) assumption that someone named "Deras-Martinez" who is committing crime violent crime in Durham is most likely an illegal alien.

Those who decry prejudice against Hispanics might want to start thinking about why they should support politicians and parties whose policies enable and encourage illegal immigration, and thereby foster more prejudice.

More than likely there is something else going on as bond cannot be denied to anyone during the intial appearance in the Magistrate court, save those being charged with an class A type felony such as murder. So based on what I'm reading he propbably is on an ICE hold and that's why he can't make bond or he is wanted Federally for something else and a request to hold without bond on the federal level was presented before the Judge Magistrate.

An out-of-town friend told me he was thinking about moving his family to Durham... I started laughing and said..."why on earth would you want to do something crazy like that?"...

I am thinking there is no bond because there is a detainer on him....perhaps?
