Posted September 15, 2010

— Henderson police made an arrest after an attempted armed robbery was reported at the Walmart store, 200 N. Cooper Drive, Saturday afternoon.

A woman told police that a man threatened her with a knife, forced her into her vehicle and demanded money. She briefly struggled with the man, police said, and when she started screaming for help, he ran away.

Police said the woman suffered minor injuries on her hands.

Investigators arrested Henry Latta, of 500 Mountain Lane in Henderson, on charges of first-degree kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. Latta was given a $75,000 secured bond.

I go to walmart because it is the only place in my town that sells craft supplies. I also like the lower food prices. I do not like the fact that they have 20 cash registors (spelling) and only 3 open at a time. Ialso never go alone.

First GWALLY, show me a department store where the goods are not made in China. Your Levis, are made in China, your shoes are made in China, Everything is made in China today, or haven't you noticed. WalMart did not create this, they do not manufacture anything, they just buy the material the consumer wants.
As for them treating their employees bad. How many companies give their employees stock based on the number of hours they work. I had an aunt who worked for WalMart and she put 2 kids through college with her Stock Options given to her by WalMart. And tell me this what department store are you talking about that treats their employees better? There isn't any but your like the rest of the followers you like to blame someone else because they went from being a poor old country boy to one of the wealthiest people in the country because they had a vision.

..."Avoid Wal-Mart. They make billions a year, and treat their employees like garbage...."

The fact that they make "billions of dollars" is their business...the fact that they "treat their employees like garbage" is a problem the employees should handle.........however the fact that they have shut down thousands and thousands of small businesses across the US and are the largest manufacturer IN CHINA and NOT the USA....That my friend IS the reason NOT to shop and support walmart!!!!!!!!!!!

Walmart is a good place to work--I do. This guy is foolish; why would someone rob someone else in a parking lot with cameras? I do not get it.

colliedave - too high a percentage of Wal-Mart employees are on public assistance programs. Wal-Mart is not a paragon of employee treatment. In fact, why anyone would shop at Wal-Mart and support their business model is a mystery to me. Avoid Wal-Mart. They make billions a year, and treat their employees like garbage.

poor guy obviously needed the funds. Walmart has billions of $$$, why not share some with the poor folks they rip off?

another product of our useless public school system who believes the bilge she has been fed about the evil private sector and the hopeless victims used by it. How many jobs do you believe Walmart provides? Do you not understand it helps poor people purchase higher end goods?
