Man charged in attempted armed robbery at Walmart

Henderson, N.C. — Henderson police made an arrest after an attempted armed robbery was reported at the Walmart store, 200 N. Cooper Drive, Saturday afternoon.
A woman told police that a man threatened her with a knife, forced her into her vehicle and demanded money. She briefly struggled with the man, police said, and when she started screaming for help, he ran away.
Police said the woman suffered minor injuries on her hands.
Investigators arrested Henry Latta, of 500 Mountain Lane in Henderson, on charges of first-degree kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. Latta was given a $75,000 secured bond.
