Man Charged After Teen, Child Grazed by Bullets

A Fayetteville man was arrested Friday in connection with shots fired into an occupied SUV early Wednesday, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A local man was arrested Friday in connection with shots fired into an occupied SUV early Wednesday, police said.

John Davie Knight, 23, was charged with four counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count each of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A man shot into a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the 6700 block of Pacific Avenue on Wednesday morning, and a 15-year-old and a 4-year-old inside the vehicle were grazed by at least one bullet, police said.

The teen and the child were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
