Fayetteville, N.C. — A Fayetteville man sought in connection with a recent shooting in which a teen and a child were grazed by bullets was apprehended Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Jermon Leon Owens, 34, of 932 Hidden Oak Drive, was arrested on Cliffdale Road after a brief chase on foot by members of the U.S. Marshal's Service Violent Fugitive Task Force and Fayetteville police.
Owens was charged with four counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count each of shooting into occupied property, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
A man shot into a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the 6700 block of Pacific Avenue on Nov. 14, and a 15-year-old and a 4-year-old inside the vehicle were grazed by at least one bullet, police said. The teen and the child were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
John Davie Knight, 23, was arrested two days later on the same charges as those lodged against Owens.
Police said Owens and an adult in the SUV knew each other and that Owens is the father of the wounded 4-year-old.
