Man arrested in shooting outside Durham supermarket

Posted April 2, 2013

— Durham police have arrested the man wanted for shooting another man outside a Durham supermarket last week.

Christopher Eugene Hill, 34, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the shooting outside Los Primos Supermarket on East Main Street. He was placed in the Durham County jail under a $530,000 bond.

According to 911 recordings, it appears that Hill and the victim, whose name and condition haven't been released, were involved in some kind of confrontation shortly before the shooting.

The victim was seriously injured, police have said.

Who did his backround check? or could it be true that convicted felons wont go the legal rout to get gun? Don't show this story to Joe Biden.

He'll be out in a couple of days. That's how it is in Durham.

    I stand corrected.

Rockguitar, reading is fundamental.....The story clearly states that he was charged with "possession of a firearm by a convicted felon", and the weapons permit remark was humor. It's obvious that you have neither reading comprehension skills or a sense of irony. BTW, HILL has been convicted for 2d degree murder, possession, and manufacture of drugs, plus felony speeding to elude. Only 10 years for taking a life and he tries to do it again. He will be rewarded for incompetence and only get 1-2 years max. Forget habitual felon status.

meldenis: how do you know A) he was a convicted felon; and B) he had a gun permit?

  • meldenis Apr 3, 2013

How does a felon pass a background test? Oh that right those only apply to law abiding citizens. How does a felon get a gun permit? Oh that right those only apply to law abiding citizens.
