Man arrested in Goldsboro shooting

A 22-year-old Goldsboro man has been arrested in the shooting of a 20-year-old man Saturday evening, police said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 22-year-old Goldsboro man has been arrested in the shooting of a 20-year-old man Saturday evening, police said.

Police said that Miguel Phillips shot Darryl Dunn in the left leg in the 500 block of Wayne Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Dunn was found at 715 Devereaux St. and taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Phillips, of 1002 E. Elm St., was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Investigators have not yet determined a motive in the shooting.

State Department of Correction records show that Phillips was serving two concurrent sentences of probation. He was convicted in May of second-degree trespassing and in January of hit-and-run and resisting an officer.
