FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Detectives have arrested a man they believe killed another man in a shooting late Saturday night at a Camden Road home.

Timothy Michael McRoberts, 25, of 327 Martin Road in St. Pauls, faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Zacharia James Fotta, 27, of Fayetteville.

Detectives said the men were drinking at Fotta's house when they started to argue around 10:30 p.m. McRoberts allegedly pulled out a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants and shot Fotta.

McRoberts fled the scene but was arrested by Cumberland County sheriff's deputies.

He was being held Sunday in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday.

McRoberts served three years and seven months in prison after being convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony breaking-and-entering in March 2003. His parole expired in May.
