Man Arrested in Connection With Raleigh Homicide

An arrest was made Monday in a Raleigh homicide. Jneaka Jaroyce Sutton, 22, was arrested and charged with murder in Derrick Dangelo Swinson's killing.

RALEIGH, N.C. — An arrest was made Monday in connection with a Raleigh homicide.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8, officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Walnut Street. Derrick Dangelo Swinson's body was found behind a residence.

Swinson, 23, had been shot and was transported to WakeMed, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Jneaka Jaroyce Sutton, 22, was arrested Monday and charged with murder in Swinson's death.

The U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Raleigh Police Department’s Fugitive Task Force took him into custody in Cary without incident.
