— A Mount Olive woman was injured Sunday evening in a shooting at the Neighborhood Food and Grill on Pollock Street, police said.

The bullet grazed above the eye of Zealtrice Renee Seaberry, 23, causing non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police Chief Brian Rhodes said that investigators arrested Patrick Antonio Armwood, 25, at a home in Durham a few hours after the shooting.

Armwood, of 510 E. Pollock St., is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a weapon into an occupied property. He was in Wayne County jail Tuesday under a $110,000 bond.

I don't know why Mount Olive police allow the media to portray him as fleeing the city making him look to be guilty, when Mount Olive police themselves told the family to leave town, due to they were being accused of having involvement. These police need to stand behind their actions and statements, and allow the people and the courts to utilize the evidence to prove someone guilty or not guilty.

I live in this area and know both of these young people. It's a shame that this young man has taken the road he has. (He is a convicted fellon.) I had both of them as middle school students. Both had great futures with basketball. Sad, how one is hurt and the other in jail. Both of these kids were smart, also. I hate that this is what has happened. Sad day.

Sorry, but I don't find that sensible for one reason - a five year old, regardless of the safety issues he may have been taught, doesn't have the maturity to make fully responsible choices, especially if someone ticks him off while he has the gun in his hand.

Was she the intended target, or just an unlucky bystander?

Either way, blessed she wasn't seriously injured.

"This is the third shooting story today; so far. Pretty soon it will be hard to find a story that does not involve a shooting.

Get used to it. We'll be reading lots more stories like this one as every Tom, Dock (had to misspell that name) and Harry start packing guns and spraying hot lead all over the place.

The media is standing firm with Hillary on denying you your right to bear arms. -BubbaDuke

LOL. You had to make a stretch there eh considering that Obama has expanded gun rights.

    Bubba,

One of the ear witnesses is a former state trooper and the other is a former EMS worker and a current 911 dispatcher, I believe them when they say it came from an automatic weapon. Again, it was a drive-by, so it's a little different than target shooting, many drive-by's occur without a "decent hit". But I suspect Ms. Seaberry thinks it was a decent hit.

I was stating the facts that I know, I was making no judgements on the 2nd amendment. I own three shotguns, two rifles, and two pistols and would have more if I could afford them. I got my first gun at 5 and shot my 1st deer at 12. My son could handle a pump BB gun at 5 and we have taught him the rules of gun safety. I have an NRA sticker on the back of my Suburban and oppose ANY efforts to restrict gun sales. I think even non-violent felons should be able to own firearms to protect themselves and their families (or just target shoot if they want to!). People kill people, not guns.

We don't know it was an automatic weapon involved. I can pull the trigger pretty fast on a semi-automatic. If that many rounds were fired and they didn't score a decent hit they need to switch to a shotgun.

Another 'gun' story in the media. Are you ready to give up your right to bear arms yet? The media is standing firm with Hillary on denying you your right to bear arms.

noclu, it was actually a drive-by shooting from an automatic weapon, ear witnesses reported hearing about 8 shots in about 2-3 seconds, probably had nothing to do with her...friend of mine's mother lives about two houses away and they heard the commotion

Guess she complained too much about her food and the chef got mad?
