Man arrested in attempted robbery at Clayton Wendy's

Posted May 8, 2013

— A Middlesex man who tried to rob a Clayton restaurant employee early Wednesday gave up after the employee refused him, police said.

Brian Douglas Robeson, 31, of the 500 block of Barnes Lake Road, is charged with felony attempted common law robbery, communicating threats and resisting a police officer.

Clayton police said a Wendy’s employee called 911 about 1:30 a.m. and reported that a man jumped out from behind a Dumpster at the restaurant on U.S. Highway 70 and tried to rob him. When the employee refused, the man ran away.

Officers found the suspect in the parking lot of a Burger King across the street from Wendy’s. They said Robeson was combative and threatened the officers several times. He was unarmed.

Robeson was held in the Johnston County jail under a $32,000 secured bond.

Sounds more like an aggressive pan handler to me. He'll be an even bigger burden on society now.

Guy tried to rob me at Mcdonald's on Peace Street in Raleigh about a week ago.

Guess he changed his mind. Yeah I actually prefer Burger King myself.

I don't blame him. Their chili is pretty good.

Maybe the NAACP can explain to him why he cannot find a job instead of telling us why he has the right to a warm place to sleep and why we should be feeding him and his family. Sorry but at the age of 31 he should be a taxpayer not a tax burden

Foiled at Wendy's and then hit the big time by going to Burger King. I guess you can't always have it your way at BK, huh?
