Man arrested for reportedly setting off fireworks inside Grand Forks bar

Grand Forks, ND — Grand Forks police arrested a man early Sunday morning after they say he set off fireworks inside The Loft bar. Bar employees detained 20 year-old Isaiah Ramirez from Crookston until police could arrive. They say Ramirez set off a large firework in the main portion of the bar while it was full of patrons.
Police are urging anyone who may have been in the bar at the time and who could have been injured to contact them.

On July 23, 2017 at approximately 1:08 am officers of the Grand Forks Police Department responded to a report of an individual setting off fireworks inside The Loft Bar in downtown Grand Forks. Responding officers located a suspect who had been taken into custody by bar staff.
Preliminary investigation has revealed a suspect set off a large firework inside the main bar area while it was full of customers. Moderate damage was caused to the inside of the establishment and it was reported that several customers were hit with flying glass as a result of the explosion caused by the firework.
Taken into custody as a result of this investigation was 20 year old Crookston, MN resident Isaiah RAMIREZ. RAMIREZ has been preliminarily charged with the following offenses: Endangering by Fire or Explosion; Criminal Mischief; Providing False Information to Law Enforcement; Disorderly Conduct; Minor In Consumption of Alcohol and Minor on Liquor Premise.
The Grand Forks Police Department is asking any persons who may have been inside The Loft Bar at the time of this explosion and who may have witnessed this incident or who suffered any injuries as a result of this incident to contact the Police Department at 701-787-8000.
