A 55-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with a rape that happened Friday at a temporary housing facility for UNC Hospitals.

<b>CHAPEL HILL, N.C.</b> — A 55-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with a rape that happened Friday at a temporary housing facility for UNC Hospitals. 

Campus police at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill said Rafael Sierra Gaono assaulted a woman at the SECU Family House on Old Mason Farm Road. 

<span style="font-size: 12px;">The house provides accommodations for families of patients who are being treated for critical illness or injury at UNC Hospitals or clinics.</span>

Gaono, charged with second-degree rape in the incident, was in the Orange County jail Tuesday under a $40,000 bond. Gaono was scheduled to make a first court appearance Tuesday at 2 p.m.

No other information about the assault was released.
