Goldsboro, N.C. — Police say a suspect surrendered Sunday after one man died in a Goldsboro shooting.
Around midnight, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a shooting near the 900 block of Carver Drive.
They found 19-year-old Jerome Wimbush Jr. with gunshot wounds. Paramedics confirmed Wimbush's death when they arrived at the scene.
Police were searching for Jacques Torraine Atkinson, 19, who they believed to be a suspect in the shooting.
Atkinson, who police considered "armed and dangerous," was arrested Sunday after he turned himself in at the Wayne County Magistrate's Office.
Atkinson is being held without bond and will appear in court on Monday.
