CLAYTON, N.C. — Police say an Angier man preyed on multiple unlocked cars Friday in the Riverwood community, stealing credit cards and electronics.

Joshua David Turner, 27, of 79 Nicolas Count, was arrested and charged with 11 felonious counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, four counts of felonious financial card theft, one count of felonious financial card fraud, five counts of misdemeanor larceny and one count of obtaining property by false pretense.

Residents in the community called police Friday morning to report items missing from their cars, and by Friday night officers had arrested Turner at a Cracker Barrell near Interstate 40 in Garner. During the arrest, officers found many of the stolen credit card and electronic equipment.

This is the second time in the last month the Riverwood community, off Pritchard Road in Clayton, has been hit by thieves taking advantage of unlocked cars. Last month thieves stole cash and electronics from vehicles.

Police urge members of the community to lock their car doors.
