FOUR OAKS, N.C. — The Johnston County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Monday afternoon after a brief standoff at the home of a woman he’s accused of assaulting.

Timothy Allen Harrison, 32, was released on bond Monday morning for an assault on a female charge. Investigators said he violated a domestic violence protective order around 3 p.m. when he went to the victim's home and forced his way inside.

The woman and a child were able to escape, but when deputies arrived, Harrison barricaded himself inside the home, at 7008 N.C. Highway 210 near Four Oaks.

Traffic on N.C. 210 was re-routed while deputies and standoff negotiators were at the scene.
