Man accused of taking gun to business after not getting job
Johnston County sheriff's officials arrested a Goldsboro man who is accused of bringing a gun to a Clayton business that declined to hire him.

Stephen Randolph Melvin, 50, took the gun into Hales Group Fabricating, at 8027 U.S. Highway 70 Business West, Wednesday afternoon and left before officers could respond, authorities said.
No one was injured and Melvin did not point the weapon at anyone, according to the sheriff's office.
Authorities said he applied for a job in April and was upset that he was not hired.
Sheriff's officials found Melvin in Kenly and charged him with breaking and entering and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was being held in the Johnston County jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
Court documents show that Melvin was released from prison in January 2010 after serving more than eight years in jail for a 2003 robbery, kidnapping, and assault in Durham. He was also convicted of common law robbery in 1988, 1991 and 1998. In 1981, he was also convicted of breaking and entering.
